Info about 2010 year summer trip (November 8, 2009)

The workshop is now almost three-quarters full with those who have said that they will definitely be going and those who said they will probably be going. If those of you who think you are probably going do go, we only have room for three or four more undergraduates and one or two more graduate students. So as you make your decision, please do let know Dr. Blanning - ASAP.

Visitors from the Czech Republic (November 8, 2009)

Kristina and Marketa, two graduate students at DAMU, Prague national conservatory of the Arts will be coming in January/February to talk with us about Czech life form the student perspective (Marketa lives in Olomouc, Kristina in Prague). They will also spend quite a lot of time with the graduate students on the trip, helping them prepare for their Prague stay and generally conversing about their academic endeavors and systems.
Lenka is a teacher in the Olomouc Public School system, and she will be teaching you how to teach English. Vojta is an EU certified translator whose duties give him amazing insight to topics as far ranging as the process of EU conversion & compliance, to contemporary opera, and on to international sports. They will be coming here some time in late March or early April, in order to give you more information about the teaching period of the trip and to help place you with a host family.
